Congratulations to SASCA ‘A’ on winning the Weston Trophy, with Clay Cross ‘A’ in second place also 
gaining promotion to division one. Commiserations to Nomads ‘B’ who finished in third place only one point 
behind Clay Cross ‘A’ and just failing to earn a play off for the second  promotion position. 
Also commiserations to Darnall and Handsworth and Woodseats ‘B’ in the relegation positions, even though 
Woodseats ‘B’ had a run of wins towards the end of the season.

Congratulations to Ecclesall B who won promotion and the championship with two games to spare,
and with only one loss all season.  Clay Cross win promotion in second place, a massive 8 points behind.
With a sudden loss of form Aughton B find themselves relegated after picking up only 1 point from
their last 6 games.  Rotherham had problems all season and finish bottom on 10 points.

Congratulations to Paul Cumbers for retaining his title for another year.
Crabb Shield 2004 This will be held on Saturday 10 July at The Abbey, (Woodseat's venue)
commencing 11.20 am. Players are asked to arrive by 11.10am to confirm their
attendance.
Format will be 6 rounds with each player having 25 minutes for all their
moves per game.
Round 1:    11.20 am
Round 2:    12.20pm followed by lunch. 
(There is a highly recommended pub restaurant in the bar below!)  
Round 3:   2.20pm
Round 4:   3.20pm
Round 5:   4.25pm
Round 6:   5.30pm
Prizegiving will follow as soon as possible after the last round.
Entry fee is £4.00 waged, £2.00 unwaged. All entry fees will be returned as
prizes. The highest placed player currently resident in the Sheffield &
District Chess Association region will be the winner of the Crabb Shield.
Last year's event proved very popular and players are advised to get their
entries in as soon as possible as space is restricted to 20 boards. (Last
year we had 41 entrants which was the absolute maximum possible!) Entries
will be accepted on the day but only as far as space permits. 
There was call last year for more than one summer tournament of this type.
If there is a similar mood on the day then it would be possible to put on
similar tournaments in August/September.

Peter Hempson Ecclesall have now moved to The Abbey, 944 Chesterfield Road, Sheffield 8.
writes Lightning Tournaments will be organized there on the 1st. and 3rd. Wednesdays of each
month, from June 16th. to September 15th., starting at 7.30.
Visitors will be welcome; entry fee £1 - all entry fees returned as prizes.
